Our Logo: The Spirit of the TAG Corner
Picture
The Chattanooga LEGO Club logo celebrates both LEGO history and Chattanooga’s railroading legacy. At its heart is the Thatcher Perkins Locomotive, a vintage LEGO set first released in 1976. This classic model was part of LEGO’s Hobby Set line—one of the earliest examples of advanced LEGO design made for builders who loved mechanical detail and creativity.

Our club chose this train because it beautifully connects Chattanooga’s identity as the “Choo Choo City” with LEGO’s long tradition of innovation. The Thatcher Perkins locomotive, with its bold red cab, blue boiler, and golden accents, mirrors the look and feel of historic steam engines that once powered the Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia region—better known as the TAG Corner.

Just like Chattanooga’s famous railways, our club runs on imagination and connection. The phrase on our logo,

“Building Tracks, One Brick at a Time,”
represents how our members build friendships, creativity, and community through LEGO—brick by brick, idea by idea.

Whether displayed on a train layout, a T-shirt, or a show banner, our logo is a reminder of where we come from:
- A city that shaped America’s railroad heritage,
- A community that spans three states, and
- A timeless toy that inspires every generation to build something amazing.
